On YouTube, a thumbnail isn't just competing with other videos in your niche — it's competing with everything else on the screen. Within seconds, viewers decide where to click.
That decision is rarely rational. It's almost automatic — driven by curiosity, emotion, and visual patterns the brain recognizes before a title is even read. That's why I don't start a project by choosing colors or fonts.
I start by understanding why someone would click. Every thumbnail is designed to guide the viewer's eye using perception, click psychology and composition — making a clear promise the content must keep.
